The way Karen treated us was unforgivable. We are heartbroken at her cruelty and how she toyed with us when she never had any intention of allowing us to adopt. She took issue with the fact that we fed our cats wet food and let them occasionally go outside in our secured fenced backyard completely supervised. We corresponded with her for over a week giving her everything she asked for and attempting to quell all of her concerns. Most times it seemed as if she never even read what we wrote as she continued to ask questions we answered numerous times. All we wanted was to adopt a sweet kitten to give our one year old ragdoll a playmate. She demanded we buy/build an expensive catio. We assured her we would buy a good one but didn’t want to spend a lot on a structure that wouldn’t be used often. She implied we were liars and went out of her way to make us feel as if we were bad pet owners. I don’t know who this woman thinks she is. A true Ananias expert would know that there’s no one for solution or scent or for every animal and just because she didn’t approve of the food we fed our cats or that we allowed them a few days of fresh air here and there shouldn’t have biased her towards responsible and loving adopters.
We’ve seen pictures of how she has her animals stored, in small cages one on top of another crowed in her living areas. Each room straight out of a hoarders episode. But a happy couple who just bought a 4 bedroom house, are financially secure and have owned cats for over 30 years, spoils the ones they have and make sure their every health and emotional need is met and has seen them through all kinds care needs wasn’t up to her “high standards” . Somehow a rescue whose voicemail claimed they were too full for anymore rescues couldn’t see fit to deem us worthy of their animals who they claim desperately need homes. We offered that and more and even offered to donate above the adoption fee. She gave us the run around for a week ignoring us every time we have her exactly what she asked for. Only to abruptly cut off contact with my partner and ban her from this page before she could post her review. It’s no wonder they have a lot more positive reviews than honest ones. Someone should tell Karen than running non profit means just that, it’s about helping others, not tax write offs and pocketing donations. Karen should be ashamed of herself and we feel so sad for the animals in her care.
