I Dream of Home Rescue's (IDOHR) mission is to rescue abandoned, unwanted and surrendered animals. While we search for loving homes, we give them what all animals deserve: shelter, food, veterinary care, and love. IDOHR will also advocate and educate on the importance of pet adoption, spaying, neutering and proper pet care.
Step 1 - Application. Adopter candidates are required to complete and submit an adoption application that will be reviewed by I Dream of Home Rescue's Board of Directors. If the application is approved we move to step 2. Step 2 - Home Check. Once the application has been reviewed and receives initial approval, we will schedule a mandatory home visit. Please note, if you are in a rented home, we will be contacting your landlord for their approval prior to adoption. If the home check is approved we move to step 3. Step 3 - Meet & Greet. If the application is approved, we will schedule a meet and greet with the potential adopters and dog(s). It is required that all members of the adoptive family must be present for the meet and greet. Step 4 - Pet Introduction. If the adopter already has existing pets (dogs or cats), we require all the pets are properly introduced by a member of I Dream of Home Rescue. We will not adopt a dog into a home that has reached it's city mandated limited. All required steps must be completed and approved by the Board of Directors prior to finalizing adoption.
