Our mission is to provide temporary and sometimes forever homes for unwanted cats and dogs in the Polk/Hillsborough County area. We partner with municipal shelters to provide a rescue for “at risk” dogs and cats. We fully support TNVR (trap neuter vaccinate and release) efforts to reduce the stray cat population.
Dog Adoptions: We require that you have a veterinary reference for all dog adoptions. Dogs who reside in Florida need to be on a monthly heartworm and flea prevention which requires veterinary prescription. If you do not currently have a veterinarian we would be happy to recommend one that we work with. Also, some dogs will require fenced in yards, or lots of exercise. Some just require a comfy lap to sit on, it all depends on the dog! Cat Adoptions: Our adoption contract requires that all cats adopted from us live as “inside cats”. We welcome you to allow access to outdoor areas such as a lanai or enclosed porch where the cat can enjoy the outdoors without being subjected to its dangers. We require a veterinary reference and would be happy to suggest a veterinarian that we work with if this is your first pet.
