Adoption Process

Our adoption process begins with an adoption application, a simple contract, vet and personal references and a potential home study/interview. All of our kitties are spayed/neutered, tested for feline leukemia and feline aids, treated for fleas, earmites, dewormed, micro-chipped, given all appropriate vaccines and heartworm preventive. Please contact us and we will start the simple process to "Adopt a Loving Companion for Life".

  • If i could i would give negative10 stars for this people. They don't answer phone calls, neither email, can't leave a message since they voicemailbox is full. People trying to give home, care and love to those animals and they don't even get back to them. Shady organization if you call them that. Disgusting behavior.

  • I have had similar experiences as the reviews indicate. I began filling out their application and at a point it would not let me go further; this was early in the application. They advertised two very sweet brothers, Maine Coon, that I was very interested. I then attempted calling and emailing to no success their either. I agree. Something is very wrong here and perhaps a higher authority needs to look into it. If they treat humans this way, I don't want to think about how their cats are cared for. Or NOT cared for. Very disturbing.

  • There is something that doesn't add up about this Rescue group. I Introduced myself to them on the Petfinder website on 1/18/22 & after 3 subsequent emails I finally received their application which I completed 1/20/22. I have heard nothing from them. I have texted them & called them & still nothing. During this same time period I have corresponded with 3 other Rescue groups & was approved by all & ended up adopting the most precious kitten. None of the kittens on their website have been adopted since I first started trying to get in touch with them in mid-January. I don't understand how Petfinder allows them to stay on their website. I don't know exactly what's wrong here but something is amiss.

  • I am beyond disappointed in this organization as my “adult” daughter/college student and studying to be a veterinarian went through all the steps requested and required, placed a cash deposit and then was told less than 24 hours to picking up the cat that she was declined. Reasons for the decline were not validated and because she also chose NOT to rescue another cat when they were already over asking for a kitten that she was possibly interested in, asking a college student to pay over $800 for 2 rescue kittens. The extra frustration on this very sad moment was that the cash deposit was sent as a cashiers check with tracking, only covered for $50 when she put down $100 cash. Shame on us/her for making it soo hard for someone who only wanted a pet to care for and have a companion as she continued with her education and love for animals! They have a disheartened individual and frustrated family for this huge headache and awful experience just trying to help give a cat a good home.

  • Would not let my daughter see the cat she wanted to look at, kept showing other cat's. We ended up adopting another cat that the lady claimed to be a main coon mix, but looks nothing like a main coon. I would be very cautious around this pet rescue. A bit sketchy on what they claim.

  • I was calling in regards to a cat 2 days before Christmas to surprise my uncle. The first time I proceeded to call, wasn't sure if I had the right number, so tried once more and realized it was the right number and at the time I didn't think about leaving a voice mail. Then my aunt suggested I do leave a voice mail for a call back. So called back to try and leave a voice mail but the call kept goin out without goin to a voicemail, thinking my phone was having issues. I proceeded to try a couple more times no luck. A loment later I received a phone call from the animal shelter and got really excited, but when I answered the lady was very rude and proceeded to say to me " how dare you call 5 times in a row we are having an animal emergency you are being very rude" and my aunt could hear her speaking to me very loudly and rudely so she told me to just hang up. And all I was wanting to do was adopt a kitten for my uncles Christmas gift. Can not believe how disrespectful she was when it is a animal adoption agency to find homes for pets in need because I live almost an hour and half away and my aunt was goin to drive me to get it. :(

Question by Lorie Stone (2 months ago): I have been feeding two feral male cats for about 3 years. I’m moving out of state and cannot take them with me. Do you trap and care for animals such as these? If so, my boys will come with a good supply of food and a generous donation to the rescue shelter that will care of them and find them a good home. One of them is fixed the other is not, but they get along together very well. The Tom cat is not a fan of any other cats though. The male that is fixed was an indoor cat at one time but he is cross-eyed (Siamese) and very skittish he showed up at my house about 6 months after his owner moved away.

We rescue and rehabilitate dogs who are at risk in overcrowded shelters, including many who have been victims of cruelty and dog-fighting, and then place them in permanent homes. We also advocate for pit bulls through educational and outreach programs and work to build a community that supports the bond between dogs and people.

Rabbits are classified as both pets and livestock, so they are farmed, experimented on, eaten, worn, made into lucky charms, and some are kept as household pets. Unfortunately like other companion animals, domestic rabbits are also discarded by irresponsible owners. Thousands of rabbits end up in animal shelters each year, and they are the 3rd most euthanized animal in shelters annually. It is bec

The phrase "Second Chance" about says it all. Our adoptable animals come to us from our local animal shelter, Alachua County Animal Services, and each of them were slated to be euthanized for one reason or another. We reserve space in our program for animals that are from our county shelter, that would not have a chance for adoption if we did take them in. Thus we are not able to take in
