Welcome Home Sanctuary - San Francisco Pet Shelter
Our mission is to find the perfect dog for you. We are a 100% volunteer based, small grassroots, nonprofit rescue that's able to provide you support throughout the adoption process, from when you pick up your new dog to the integration into your family and beyond. We want to make sure that you and your new best friend enjoy a smooth and successful transition into your life together. Our knowledgeable team is there for you. We take dogs from municipal shelters where they wouldn't have long to live and from owner surrenders. We take the dogs most in need and immediately put them in foster care so they don't ever have to be in a shelter environment again. This gives our dogs the time to decompress and it offers you the opportunity to learn about the dogs habits. With enough funding We see a sanctuary in our future.

I would not interact with this rescue. They do not give detailed accounting when people are donating for specific dogs or trying to save a dog from being killed. You ask for specific amounts and names of boarding facilities and volunteers refuse to provide that information. They should breakdown costs so community can donate as follows: (Examples)
Adoption fee: $ 500 - Show on computer that is has been fulfilled by Marcy
Boarding Fees for 11/12-12/1 ($60 per day at Coin Kennels- provide contact info) $1200
Community can know what dog their money is being applied to.... this organization just asks for general money and you have no idea how it is being spent. Their secrecy and refusal to give a breakdown of services is a HUGE RED FLAG that something unethical is going on with this KILL RESCUE. Also, site says it is all volunteers. Some volunteers run private kennels on the side and refuse to board dogs up to be killed for a few days as a good deed. They are taking money to house the dogs in their private kennel. Why can't they write it off, and then the only expense would be food? It seems that this is not completely an honest rescue deserving of 501 C3 status.
Until they change the way the disclose how money is spent, have more transparency, and you know where your money is going specifically, I would not use this shelter. And, they do not chip their dogs, and put off the spaying and neutering the dogs until they have been adopted. They do not consider these animals long-term investments. WOW!!! This rescue is for show, and it seems they are more interested in photo shoots than the animals.
